Tesco is the world’s second largest retailer by profit (£3.8bn) and third largest by revenue (£72.0bn). With an annual turnover of about £1.5bn, Tesco.com, its online retail channel, is a critical part of the business.
Tesco has engaged Excogis to provide expert consulting for its Endeca-based search & navigation solution used in their online commerce websites for UK Grocery (www.tesco.com/groceries), ROI Grocery (www.tesco.ie/groceries) and Wine by the case (www.tesco.com/wine). We are currently in the process of planning an Endeca upgrade across all existing Tesco deployments with a zero downtime requirement. As part of this effort we are coordinating Tesco’s Trading, Engineering, Infrastructure and Programme Management & Delivery groups, and ensuring all stakeholders and contributors are aligned.
We are also working closely with Oracle to highlight the latest advancements in the Oracle Endeca Commerce software suite to the Tesco management, and develop proof of concept (POC) applications that leverage Endeca’s “Big Data” and Customer Experience Management (CxM) capabilities to provide a vision of the ways in which Tesco could improve its customers’ shopping experience as well as its own internal operations.
